Sustainability
Beauty should never come at the expense of people, animals, or the planet.
We create swimwear with intention through ethical partnerships, responsible materials, and a production process that reflects the values of the women who wear our pieces.
01 / Longevity
Slowing the circular economy
We believe the most sustainable garment is the one you keep reaching for. In an industry built around constant consumption, NERA takes a different approach: timeless pieces engineered to flatter, with adjustable details that adapt to different stages of life, travel, and occasions.
Quality construction and exceptional fit extend the life of every garment we make, keeping textiles out of the waste stream. Buy better, wear longer.
02 / Materials
OEKO-TEX certified
All of our fabrics are OEKO-TEX Made in Green certified—tested against over 1,000 toxic chemicals and substances, and produced in environmentally responsible, socially accountable facilities. It’s one of the most rigorous independent textile certifications in the world, and a standard we hold every NERA piece to.
03 / Packaging
Packaged with care
All of our shipping materials are 100% recyclable, with no unnecessary plastic. We encourage our community to reuse original packaging for exchanges or returns, keeping materials in circulation and out of landfills.
04 / Production
Made in Brazil
Every NERA piece is made in Brazil—combining skilled craftsmanship with a predominantly renewable power grid.
Clean energy advantage
Roughly 90% of Brazil’s national electricity comes from renewable sources, meaning your bikini was made with exceptionally clean electricity as a baseline, not as an exception.
The mills spinning raw fibre into fabric, agricultural supply chains, and dyeing and finishing processes all benefit from that cleaner grid. Brazilian manufacturers also use bioenergy solutions including sugarcane bagasse and eucalyptus biocarbon, turning agricultural waste into energy.
05 / Animal welfare
Vegan and cruelty-free
NERA partners with a PETA-Approved Vegan and Cruelty-Free certified manufacturer. For every bikini purchased, $0.10 USD is donated to an animal-care NGO supporting rescue and rehabilitation. Fabric offcuts are donated to Brazilian NGOs that create pet beds for abandoned dogs and cats.
06 / People
Female-led production
Every NERA piece is made by skilled artisans in a female-led factory that prioritizes fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect for craftsmanship. We believe fashion can be a genuine force for economic empowerment.
