At NERA, our supply chain is built on a simple belief: beauty should never come at the expense of people, animals, or the planet.

We are committed to creating swimwear with intention, through ethical partnerships, responsible materials, and a production process that reflects the values of the women who wear our pieces.

Slowing the Circular Economy

We believe the most sustainable garment is the one you keep reaching for. In an industry built around constant consumption, NERA takes a different approach: timeless pieces engineered to flatter, with adjustable details that adapt to different stages of life, travel, and occasions. Quality construction and exceptional fit extend the life of every garment we make, keeping textiles out of the waste stream. Buy better, wear longer.

OEKO-TEX Certified

All of our fabrics are OEKO-TEX Made in Green certified — tested against over 1,000 toxic chemicals and substances, and produced in environmentally responsible, socially accountable facilities. It's one of the most rigorous independent textile certifications in the world, and it's a standard we hold every NERA piece to.

Packaged with Care

We believe thoughtful design extends beyond the garment itself. All of our shipping materials are 100% recyclable, with no unnecessary plastic. We encourage our community to reuse original packaging for any exchanges or returns, keeping materials in circulation and out of landfills. Because sustainability isn't just about how products are made, it's about how they move through the world.

Made in Brazil

Clean Energy Advantage

Brazil is the largest textile and apparel powerhouse in South America, and where every NERA piece begins. What makes Brazil different isn't just craftsmanship, it's the energy behind the craft. Textile manufacturing is globally notorious for its carbon footprint and reliance on fossil fuels, but Brazil's ultra-clean energy grid changes that equation entirely. Roughly 90% of Brazil's national electricity comes from renewable sources, meaning your bikini was made with exceptionally clean electricity as a baseline, not as an exception. Among the world's largest economies, Brazil holds the cleanest electricity profile in the G20 and has already surpassed its own goal of 84% renewable electricity by 2030.

The clean energy advantage behind your NERA piece flows through every stage of how it's made. The mills spinning raw fiber into fabric against your skin run on renewable electricity. The agricultural supply chains behind your fabric, including irrigation, ginning, and fiber transport, all run on that same clean power, meaning your swimsuit carries a lower carbon footprint before it's ever cut or sewn. Even the dyeing and finishing processes that give your NERA piece its color and feel are powered cleanly: Brazilian manufacturers use bioenergy solutions like sugarcane bagasse and eucalyptus biocarbon, turning agricultural waste into the energy that finishes your swimsuit.

PETA-Approved Vegan, Cruelty-Free & Community Impact

NERA partners with a PETA-Approved Vegan and Cruelty-Free certified manufacturer, meaning every piece is produced without animal-derived materials and without animal testing at any stage. For every bikini purchased, $0.10 USD is donated to an animal care NGO supporting rescue and rehabilitation efforts. We also ensure that leftover fabric offcuts are donated to Brazilian NGOs that create pet beds for abandoned dogs and cats, reducing waste while supporting local shelters. We believe sustainability should be circular, where even production remnants can be transformed into something meaningful.

Female-Led Production & Empowering Women Through Our Supply Chain

We believe ethical production includes empowering the people behind every garment. Every NERA piece is made in Brazil by skilled artisans in a female-led factory that prioritizes fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect for craftsmanship. In Brazil, women continue to face persistent wage gaps and underrepresentation in leadership, and by partnering with female-led manufacturers, we are proud to support meaningful employment and ensure fair compensation for skilled work. Every NERA piece is made with the belief that fashion can be a genuine force for economic empowerment.
